Blacksmiths can learn the recipes to make all the parts of this set by talking to Derotain Mudsipper in Gadgetzan. You will need to be level 50 and have blacksmith skill of 265.Be ready for sticker shock. There's no elaborate quest involved to get the plans, you just have to hand over thorium. It takes 270 thorium to learn all the recipes.

The Imperial Plate Armor. Every tankers dream. Problem is just, it does take quite a large amount of Thorium, and Star Ruby's as well.I'll add the list over total components, bonus's, skill reg's and level reg's.
And having a full set myself, i can say that just because its STR/STA based only, doesnt mean it can't look good. cause damn, you look like a Real Knight in shining Armor ((Metallic-grey/Blue shades)) Even on orcs *snickers*

Higher level pieces have become useless now that you can find TBC green plate pieces in AH, for an example all Grimscale plate pieces require only level 57 to use. While similar, this set is not exactly the same as the Stormwind guard's armor. The Heavy Mithril Shoulders(http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7918) look more like the guards shoulders, along with the Grimscale Belt(http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24918)

While actually using the set for anything other than tormenting newbs is questionable, I found that learning the recipe for the Bracers is a great way to level your blacksmithing in that difficult range just under 300. They require comparatively little thorium and remain yellow up through 300, where Fel Sharpening Stones will take over.Комментарий от freelancerbob
One of the easier pre BC sets to obtain, a blacksmith can craft you the entire set and have it waiting for you as you level.They'll be replaced soon enough, but they are servicable for any warrior, or perhaps retribution-specced paladin, for the 50-60 levelling process.
While the individual parts aren't too impressive, they combine to form a modestly effective set, and have the added advantage of looking much like the stormwind guard uniform- a fact which is not lost on roleplayers.

The best gloves that fit with this set that I've found are a level 45 plate, these gloves arent for serous players who go for stats over looks, but I assumed if anyones on an alt you can do what I did and get a+15 to strength enchant to them.http://www.wowhead.com/?item=8091
You could also get these gloves, they kinda go with it as well, but are lvl 32 and you cant get anyreal good enchants. Plus they are mail but some people might like it more than others.

The looking like SW guard thing would be more accurate with a Belf pally or an Undead warrior than a Orc or Tauren warrior.Is it possable to pull off the look with Mail? I'm sure there are shammis that would like to know....
The helm, boots, and leggings are the main things that you need from this set to do the look. You chest isn't that important(if you have better one) since you should have on tabard. The belt and shoulders you will want something differant for the look anyways. it doesn't have gloves, and gloves mostly cover up bracers.

Like someone mentioned before, just click the mini downward arrow above the window with the items in it, and click view in 3D (to see exactly what i look like, make it a male human)
A few things i switched out, were the helm (to savage gladiator's helm) and since as a DK i can't use shields, i got the GM claymore :P imo it looks pretty awesome!
Oh and just as a cherry on top, i have the "of Stormwind" title :) I LOVE THIS SET!

Personally I'd rather not use the Heavy Mithril Shoulders or Jourster's Pauldrons, because of the wrong color. Sure they have the right model, but to me, it doesn't look right, so I prefer going with the shoulders provided by the set. :)
I think either sword that's on the item comparison which I linked, would look good with the set.

Since the Stormwind Guard shield can no longer be obtained in the game, I would recommend Эгида Штормграда or Щит Максимилиана as your shield to go with the set, if you play Alliance and use shields that is.

Still has +100 armor as 2p bonus in 6.0.3, which is more than 25% boost on it's level due to stat squishing which overlooked this set bonus. Get it for your leveling tanks, especially since you're just glorified meat shields without masteries and with just default parry and dodge values left on a few pieces of gear. Even Warrior gets parry from crit on lvl 76, before that he's taking almost the same damage as anyone else.

I'm currently level 70, with BoAs except the ring. I am using the bracer and boots from this set in my non BoA slots. At level 70, these 2 items are giving me aprox 4% reduced damage taken. Much more than any other items I could put in those slots. True, I could use items with parry or dodge, but with diminished returns, the 4% mitigation is proving greatly superior.So these items are actually a great value, considering you can use them for 30 or more levels.

Objective: Stormwind City Guard transmog.Alliance faction can simply buy the Stormwind transmog set from your garrison. Horde options are still limited. :(
As complement for the Imperial Plate set, instead of obsessing about finding a matching set of blue gloves & belt -- and imho, none are are a satisfying match -- I discovered the white/gold can be matched with Thunderwood items:

the best hands by far for this are deathbone gauntlets out of scholomance. in the big section where you kill 6 bosses, then the final boss spawns, it can drop off any of those. and if you're melee, with no magic, you can either one shot the room on the top floor, if you do enough dps, or just skip that room, farm the other 5, rinse and repeat, because the top right room, if not one shotted, has to be killed with magic damage, they're immune to melee when they transform.also, why is no one talking about the shield out of CoS for this? royal crest of lordaeron. it looks pretty sick with this set :)
the gauntlets sadly have a 3% drop rate, so it takes some farming. i've been working on it on my warr for a while now, still dont have them, actually run my alt mage through there for leveling, and they drop off the first possible boss, the first time i'm in there lol
i almost forgot! the new pvp cloaks for cata, i forget the name, i dont pvp lol, but the blue and gold ones, match the blue on the helm perfectly, so it works out nice :) happy hunting

ok, for those looking for gloves for this set, i went and farmed the deathbone gauntlets, with hopes the comments on here were right, they are not a match, AT ALL in color. they're black, nothing grey or blue on them, just shades of black. completely doesnt go. so, i started camping the AH for the rockwurm ones mentioned, and the plate rockwurm gloves go perfect in design, and color. but it leaves a gap between the arm and hands, just a small one. if this bothers you, like i assume it does, the white linen shirt, covers and matches the color of the armor quite nicelygauntlets of purification also go quite nicely, same model as the rockwurm, without the gap, but the color is slightly different, still silver though

The Ледяной плащ is the best matching back IMO. The border on it is a really nice match to the belt and design on the wrists.The Рукавицы из истинного серебра are a bit off on the color matching. Still working on a couple others depending on whether you are looking for the blue or the white.
I've geared towards the white with blue accents.

There seem to be many Question \ Comments \ Concerns, in regard to which gloves match this set best. What I like to use are Касание банши, with Наручи Гордока to fill in the gap between upper & lower arm. This is the best match I've seen yet, even if I do say so myself.As well; I've always hated the belt from this set (not a fan of the 'dried noodles' stringy pattern on it), so I use Ремень рассвета. Though; if that gold stripe is a bit much for you, Пояс святилища or Латный ремень горца work just as well.
Round out the set with a Восстановленный Принцип (covers up the ghastly end-game weapon enchants) & a Щит Максимилиана, and you're character will be looking quite 'Knightly'.

I crafted this set for myself, but was bumbed to not be able to find a good 1h mace + shield combo for my Holy Paladin.I did a little research, and came up with the following:

Along with the aforementioned shield,

(found from the Un'goro "Баллада о Максимилиане".)
I find that they both match the color of the set, and go perfectly well with each other. They also fit the "holy" edge that I
wanted with this set.

For the Glove deliema, I chose to go with

As a weapon, I chose to use Короткий меч ополченца. It seems to go with it quite nicely, and seem to have (on the character screen at least anyway) an understated shining weapon glow to it, which is quite nice :)

If you want gloves that focus more on the silver/white side of things, Flash Freeze Guantlets from Heroic Maloriak have some gold trim with a splash of blue. Looks like bulky plate if you're not a fan of cloth-like materials.

Alright my comment might be buried but I'd like to show how I got the Imperial set without actually making the items and finding them around because I couldn't get a blacksmith and there was none in the auction house.First off the Imperial Plate Helm and the Imperial Plate Chest were the only two that I couldn't find outside of the set.
(These first three are all in Outlands and can be done together)Imperial Plate Shoulders can also be found by doing Наплечники защитника Сильванаара in Blade's Edge to get Наплечники защитника СильванаараImperial Plate Bracers can be found by doing Не верь глазам своим in Nagrand to get a similar Наручи боевого священникаImperial Plate Boots can also be found by doing Добыча кожи глиношкурых in Netherstorm Бутсы Прибыльца

To find him I used a video on youtube called How to find Goraluk Anvilcrack and it took me 2 kills to get it.Imperial Plate Girdle alternative Ремень ручной работы мастера-кузнеца also drops from the same guy.

Not so classic, bur still the standard "blue-and-gold" of the Alliance.

If you're not a fan of the full plate helm, Protectorate Headplate is a great alternative (blue / graymetal headband).If you're looking for a good cloak to match, both Royal Cape and Gossamer Cape match quite nicely. Royal isn't an absolute color match, but it's good enough.
Here's the set that I use, with choice of weapon sets (Sword & Board or 2H) and cloaks. Click and drag the weapons you'd like into the box with the armor pieces, then click the dropdown arrow above the pieces and select "View in 3D". Just drag the weapons back out and put new ones in if you want to preview it with a different weapon set.
Note that Stormwind Tabard from the Garrison (Dwarven Bunker / War Mill) has a better matching color scheme than the Stormwind Tabard from the Stormwind Quartermaster. The one from the Garrison is a higher-res version of the old SW tabard, if any veterans remember that one.

Objective: Stormwind City Guard transmog.Alliance faction can simply buy the Stormwind transmog set from your garrison. Horde options are still limited. :(
As complement for the Imperial Plate set, instead of obsessing about finding a matching set of blue gloves & belt -- and imho, none are are a satisfying match -- I discovered the white/gold can be matched with Thunderwood items:
